You are awesome for posting this. I was looking for it to show someone that was asking how to know if they're in love, and that's the best to explain it. And to answer annotskie about "how would you know if you have the heart your exchanged for yours?" .. the answer is.. you just KNOW. lol. Thanks again!

i agree with ate anj on not liking the movie much. but i really liked the book, thus I watched it. First time ko pa to watch in TRINOMA. (first time ko talaga nun in trinoma)

And guess who i was with when I saw it? Fr.Eli and KuyaGil. Dapat sama na lang tayo nun?

this is a quick reply lang before i go to the office.

hmmm...

i guess the boon (and bane) of love is that when you "expect" something in return for the love that you offer, that's when it stops being love...

of course, the human and "practical " part of us will shout and protest and cry foul. and that's why a lot of people have decided to not love at all. if only to escape the fear of not getting back much as you give.

and we do hope that love becomes an exchange-- a real exchange. and we stop loving if we get shortchanged. because the practical part of us says so.

which is our right really.

but if we think about it, and i learned this from a man named pedro arrupe. in the end, nothing is more practical than loving in a quite absolute and final way. because what you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will decide everything: what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, what books you read, who you talk to, what makes you cry, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.

and hopefully--because in the end, we don't really have full control over this--we do get to share that with someone who will do the rest: shows of devotion, surprises, etc -- if only to show that his/her heart is yours.

yey! i'm glad you liked it. i want everyone to like it. i don't loooooove the movie. but i enjoyed watching it, despite the little expectations not met.

while i do not like claire danes, i do find yvaine's speech beautiful. this was absent in the book if i remember correctly. however, i just wished she was more in-love the way she said it.

anyhoo... now that you have seen the movie, try reading the book. it is funnier and sadder at the same time. even the brothers are funnier. and it is more philosophical and less hollywood.

the sky captain and lamia did a great job in making the movie as great as it could be. i love them. ahrrr!

on "love is your heart, in exchange for mine"...

so if there are no demonstrations of devotion, no goods, etc...how would you know if you have the heart your exchanged for yours? la lang...just a thought. weee.
